How to Install or Reinstall Windows 11

What You’ll Need:
A second working PC or laptop
A USB stick (8GB or larger, formatted as FAT32)

Step 1: Create a Bootable Windows USB
On your working PC, download the official Windows Media Creation Tool:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

Open the tool and select:
“Create installation media for another PC”

Follow the prompts to:
Choose your language, edition, and architecture (usually 64-bit)

Select USB flash drive as the destination

Choose your USB stick from the list

Click the start button and wait for the tool to finish downloading and creating the bootable USB

Step 2: Boot the Target PC from USB
Safely remove the USB from the working PC, and insert it into the powered-off PC you want to install Windows on

Turn on the PC and repeatedly press the Delete key (some motherboards may use a different key, such as F12 or F2) during startup to enter the BIOS

In the BIOS menu:

Locate the boot priority or boot order settings

Set your USB stick as the first boot device

Save and exit BIOS

The PC should now boot from the USB and load the Windows installer

Step 3: Install Windows
When the Windows installer loads, click next until prompted for a product key

Enter your product key.

If you are reinstalling Windows and already have a product key stored on the motherboard, select “I don’t have a product key”, and then choose the Windows version you have a key for.

On the installation type screen, select
“Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)”

You will see a list of partitions. Select the drive you want to install Windows to. You may need to delete any partitions already on that drive.

Windows will now install. The system may restart several times.

After installation, it will boot into Windows and guide you through the initial setup
